Lee was a winner at every level, including her collegiate golf career at Standford University where she earned 9 victories and spent 17 weeks at the top of the Women's Amateur in the World. As a young girl she started competing in tournaments, and within 4 years, she had won 50 Junior titles. She made the cut at her first tournament in the year 2014 US Women's Open at Pinehurst No. She was 15 years old and her father was her caddie. Lee was unable to make cut at the LPGA Tour cut at the 2015 ANA Inspiration by just one shot. Lee was a member of the USA in the Junior Ryder Cup Junior Solheim Cup Curtis Cup Women's World Amateur Team Championship and the Junior Ryder Cup. As the first female pupil to enroll at Stanford University, Lee was the most decorated in Stanford's history. In the three-year period following her graduation, she won nine separate title. Lee quit Stanford University to turn pro in 2019. The amateur career of her was a success, seeing her spend 17 weeks on leading the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Lee was awarded her the Mark H. McCormack award in the season of 2019 after being the number one amateur. Lee's record for amateur play was four holes in a single as well as one albatross. Her debut year with the LPGA Tour saw her finish within the top two spots of 10 spots. She was a T7 finisher at the 2020 AIG Women's Open held at Kingsbarns Golf Links.
