Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Perry made her debut on television in the role of Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on Roseanne, an ABC comedy Roseanne. The parents of her didn't want her to pursue acting until she became an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry was shy during high school and was not a performer. The actress began her acting career at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred from Boston University. Perry began her career in New York after graduation, performing in minor role in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, the feeling of homelessness made Perry return to California and find work as a theater actress. She appeared on Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in 2013. Perry was in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie as well as Kevin McKidd. This was presented in the West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry appeared nine times in The Family, an ABC thriller The Family, in 2016. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal which starred her father. She played the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off series of CBS's The Big Bang Theory was an additional portrayal that was younger of her mother. The character was chosen through an audition, even though she had a close association with it.
